Centurion, South Africa. – 22 July 2019. IoT innovator IoT.nxt has been categorised as a notable vendor for IIoT alongside Microsoft, Huawei, AWS, Siemens and Alibaba in the latest Gartner Magic Quadrant for IoT Platforms report.
“The IoT.nxt offering spans the range of required IIoT platform components for industrial enterprises,” Gartner states in the report.
IoT.nxt CEO, Nico Steyn, says being categorised alongside Microsoft, AWS and Huawei is testament to the company and its people’s capability to not only innovate but create meaningful software for this sector. “It is also validation of the tech we are building, an agile solution that offers rapid deployment.”
The report notes that by 2023, 30% of industrial enterprises will have full, on-premises deployments of IIoT platforms, up from 15% in 2019.
IoT.nxt was first recognised by Gartner in 2016 when it was listed as one of the South African Inspired Innovators for the company’s annual IT Symposium/Xpo™ hosted in Cape Town.
Gartner defines the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform market as a set of integrated software capabilities to improve asset management decision making and operational visibility and control for plants, infrastructure and equipment within asset-intensive industries and environments.
