Procurement manager reporting to the Head of Supply Chain located in Centurion, Pretoria
Job Purpose:
Develop an effective and efficient procurement function ensuring all operational and strategic sourcing operations are aligned with the Group company procurement policies and procedures.
Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility. Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers. Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services
Key Result Areas: (Major Accountabilities)
Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
Examine and test existing contracts
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
Champion Supplier Development and Enterprise Develop to meet targets and drive meaningful transformation
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Knowledge:
You will have good knowledge of and procurement experience within the ICT / Telecoms sector (at least 5 years)
Working knowledge of SAP
Professional Experience:
Minimum 3-5 year experiences within Procurement environment
Minimum 3-5 year experiences within Supply Chain environment
Minimum 3-5 year experiences in formulating Forecasts and Planning
Excellent at working with Lead times and planning
Educational Background:
Completed B-com and CIPS qualified
