FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS reporting to CFO located in Centurion, Pretoria
Job Purpose:
The FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS will be responsible for running the accounting and financial activities of an organisation. They will assist the CFO to analyse the economic stability of the company and provide financial information to other departments and shareholders. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for compiling the month end reports, quarterly budgets, cash flow analysis and any adhoc reporting required by the shareholders.
Key Result Areas: (Major Accountabilities)
Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports after TBs have been finalised.
Tax reporting and inventory processing
Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates
Advising on estimates for project funding
Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow for discussion and review with the CFO
Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
Assisting with quarterly budgets and year-end budget
Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
Examining financial records to check for accuracy
Ensure Revenue and Costs are correctly recognised in accordance with IFRS15
Ad hoc requests and reports
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Knowledge:
Knowledge of reporting requirements to the shareholder
Preferably have experience in reporting to a listed entity
Must have variance analysis skills
Must have a sound Tax knowledge
Caseware experience in compiling financial statements
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel , word , powerpoint etc)
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
Knowledge of relevant tax laws
Professional Experience:
2-5 years reporting/ accounting experience
2 years in profits and loss accounts, cash flow statements and variance analysis
Educational Background:
Bachelor of Accounting Science degree or a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting degree preferable
Sage/ Pastel/ Oracle/SAP courses preferable
Technical Competencies:
Interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical issues in a concise and non-technical manner to users
Ability to work across multiple teams/projects/time zones
Ability to learn and master new technologies with a technical and business aptitude
Business and technical project experience with strong process analysis, design, systems thinking and documentation skills
Excellent MS Office product knowledge (MS Excel Advanced experience)
SAP Experience required
Strong interpersonal skills with superior written and verbal communication skills
